We expect all competitors to have a positive attitude and compete in good faith. Negative behaviour, bad sportsmanship, aggressive behaviour and disregard for competitors safety is not what we want to see, is against the IBJJF rules and may result in disqualification.
The welfare of the competitors competing in this competition is important to us. We expect that any instruction, support or comments are given in a positive manner.
It can be stressful and difficult for competitors to make sense of too many instructions so we prefer to keep it simple. Stress free and fun is the aim of the day. Arguments with referees will not be tolerated. Complaints against a referee should be taken to the Head Referee. We welcome your feedback so that our competitions can continue to be fun, safe and rewarding events but please keep it professional and polite.
This is a Submission only round robin competition. What does this mean? It means no submission - no win and no points. All IBJJF submissions for your rank are legal.
Competitors are grouped into 5 man draws and will compete under a regular time of 4 minutes per match. If no submission has occurred within regular time competitors will be given 1 minute of overtime. Overtime is played with an attacker taking back control and a defender attempting an escape. Once a defender has escaped back control and any submission, competitors will swap places. The order in which competitors take back control will be determined by coin toss. If the attacker is submitted by the defender during overtime, no further overtime is played and the defender is declared the winner. If each player achieves a submission during overtime, the quickest submission will win. If neither player achieves a submission then a winner will not be awarded and each player will receive zero points.
The best way to win the match is to submit your opponent during regular time. (3 points)
The second best way to win the match is to submit the attacker during overtime. (1 points)
The worst way win the match is to have the quickest submission on the defender during overtime. (1 point)
No submission (0 points)
Submit all your opponents during regular time.
